Life Long Friendships

As children we are all taught to work hard and that maybe one day we will get to go to college and become whatever we want. College has always been a place where I thought you had to drink coffee every morning and be a sophisticated adult, but even though I have only been in college for approximately a week I’ve learned that the people here are accepting and kind people. It is also easy to meet people who have similar interests with you; in high school there was not a huge amount of diversity so it was difficult to find someone similar to you. In college there are diverse groups everywhere with many different interests. When I got to Butler University my whole perspective changed. You might run into that one bad apple, but as a whole the college community has turned out to be a group of great people who are up for new experiences and friends. My idea of college was completely wrong, it is a place where you will meet the friends who will remain your friends for the rest of your lives. The different teams, organizations, and clubs all provide a great way to meet fun people who are interested in the things that you are interested in.
